PREFACE

The Tabernacle of Praise International Ministry is people - - people who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ. It is our belief that we are ambassadors for Christ. We are on an adventurous commission to win the world for Jesus by converting one person at a time.

Part of this adventure includes a bold evangelistic thrust called Commission 200. This vision has biblical basis - based upon Matthew 28:18-20, ". Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples." This motto unites Tabernacle of Praise International Ministry enabling us to reach our highest potential for world evangelism.

Commission 200 calls for the involvement of every member of the Tabernacle of Praise International Ministry to reaching its goal.

  1. To make the multiplying of believers and of churches the top priority of the church.
  2. To develop efficient pastoral care in an effort to keep the new believers that God wants to give us.
  3. To teach, train and employ every member to discover, develop, and deploy his or her spiritual gifts.
  4. To take thirty - (30) minutes daily in prayer for world evangelism.
  5. To plant strong churches whose minimum goal is to grow to a 200-member ministry.
  6. To duplicate the model of the Mother Church (the respective member church, Beaufort, North Carolina) as set forth by the Bishop.

Tabernacle of Praise membership churches must use these goals as a means of self-evaluation and inspiration. Commission 200 goals target a wide variety of ministries to win the lost for Christ.

Our structure, which is a combination of the Episcopal and Congregational forms of government, gives our churches a measure of both denominational uniformity and local autonomy. This blend is important to church growth.

Our doctrinal emphasis is bible-centered and attempts to encompass holistic spirituality. The ministry's theological stance is biblically sound and uses the book "Acts of the Apostles" as its springboard. The church was born in Pentecostal revival.

CREED AND COVENANT

I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and buried; He descended into hell (that is, the place of the departed); the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost; the holy universal church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen

ARTICLES OF FAITH

  1. We believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and all things visible and invisible. (I Timothy 2:5) And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who is of one substance with the Father, by whom all things were made. Colossians 1:15-18) And in the Holy Ghost, the Comforter, who is sent from the Father and Son and who together with the Father and Son, is worshipped and adored. (Acts 2:4)

  2. We believe that man was made in the image of God that he might know, love, and obey God, and enjoy Him forever; that Adam and Eve, the parents of the human race fell God by disobedience, and that all men are so alienated from God that there is no salvation from sin and eternal torment, except through the blood of Jesus.

  3. We believe that God would have all men return to Him and has made Himself known by His great handy work. He has revealed Himself by revelations to mankind, "that he might bring things in one by Jesus Christ."

  4. We believe that the scriptures of the Old Testament and the New Testament are God's Holy Word to man, given by the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. We believe that these words are able to make us wise unto salvation, and they contain the oracles of life, which sets the standard of living for God's holy people.

  5. We believe that the love of God to sinful men has found its highest expression in the redemptive work of His Son, who stripped Himself of divinity to become humanity, in an effort to redeem man back to God. Thus He has become our perfect sacrifice and has reconciled us back unto the Father.

  6. We believe that Jesus Christ, after He had risen from the dead, ascended into heaven, and satisfied the sin penalty required of God, the Father, therefore, He is qualified to save men from their sins as they trust in His redeeming grace and blood.

  7. We believe that justification is and act of God whereby all the sins of our past life have been forgiven through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Justification comes when one has truly repented, and has been regenerated and reborn by the Spirit of God.

  8. We believe in sanctification as a second act of grace whereby the believer is separated and consecrated unto God body, soul, and spirit. We believe that sanctification is progressive.

  9. We believe in water baptism, as it is the act of burying the old man and coming up a new man in Christ Jesus.

  10. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, as the gift of God to the believer to empower them to become His witnesses throughout the World.

  11. We believe in divine healing of the body, through the precious atonement of Jesus, by which sickness and disease are destroyed.

  12. We believe in the observance of Sunday, the first day of the week as a day of worship according to the New Testament early church.

  13. We believe in the return of Jesus Christ to catch away the church as the dead in Christ are raised and those alive will be caught up; the wicked will be judged and sentenced to eternal banishment from God, death and hell will be cast into the lake of fire, and God will reign over all.

  14. We believe in divine healing as in the atonement (Isaiah 53:4-5; Mark 16:14-18; James 5:14-16; Exodus 15:26).

  15. We believe in the imminent, personal, pre-millennial, second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ (I Thessalonians 4:15-17; Titus 2:13; II Peter 3:1-4; Matthew 24:29-44), and love and wait for His appearing (II Timothy 4:8).

  16. We believe it is the responsibility of every believer to dedicate his life to carrying out the work of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15-20; Acts1:8).
